Alan Baer article & photos in Denver Post

Post by ajh184 »

Hi all-

There was a nice article in the paper this week about the NY Phil coming to Vail, CO for their summer stint.

Mr Baer was featured fairly prominently in pics and text.

Enjoy! (and what a great way to spend some time in the summer!)

How did his tuba get there? I've shown up for many gigs on a m'cycle ......with my (French) Horn....never with my tuba or sousaphone.

Don't sound so surprised... he did help design the horn.

I bet the NYP is in with the teamsters. Didn't you know? Jimmy Hoffa played second clarinet for the phil for many years.

I believe that the orchestra handles the transportation of the larger instruments, and the formal wear too!
