Perspective on Mirafone 188-5U

Seems like a horn some people talk about owning, but not a lot of conversation on them.
Pro's/Con's, your perspective from experience?

It's the favored ax of one of my favorite tubists, William Roper. You can hear it on his records.

It's a beefier version of the 186. It's physically larger and has more depth and sonority in its sound, to my ears. Good all-arounder.

Thanks for the tip on William Roper. His looks like it has been a trusty companion for many years.
I’m a hobby player who’s been out of playing a long minute while growing the family. Just acquired a like new 188 in an unbelievable luck deal that would make you sick.

Lifelong BBb guy, so going to have to learn CC. Should be fun! :tuba:
