1971 Mirafone 186-5U CC - ON HOLD

Post by the elephant »

This instrument is on hold…

My outstanding example of a 1971 186-5U CC is up for sale.

Fantastic mechanical condition. ZERO dents. Unlacquered brass. No hard case. Blue Miraphone gig bag in excellent condition. No mouthpiece.

$5,500

If interested, please contact me here! We can work something out regarding transport. I need the money soon to pay off hospital bills. This is a very fine musical instrument and has been my main freelance tuba for eight years now. Only selling to help pay off some serious medical debt.

Act now and smile about it for the next twenty years of your career!

:tuba:

You know what one of these looks like. So this one? Yeah, it looks like that. Only with zero dents. And no lacquer.

NB — John Belushi appears courtesy of Adobe Photoshop…

Nothing but fingerprints…

Shines up nicely (if you like that look)…

Buy this. You'll be happy.

NOTE: The 3rd photo shows the horn with the first thumb lever I put on it. (I added the 5th valve.) I did not like the modern "bar" style and bought a new "old school" lever that matches this tuba's vintage. I did that work when I installed the new thumb ring, which is the removable type. (The last photo shows the horn at a gig between the times when I installed the new lever and thumb ring.) The first two photos are how the horn is dressed out today.

So yes, it is the same tuba.

You kids keep your silly conspiracy theories to yourselves, heh, heh…

NB: The term "transport" means from my hands to yours. I do not ship tubas at all, ever.

We have to meet, and normally I am willing to drive out from my house to anywhere in Mississippi, or to a meeting place of our mutual agreement in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Memphis/Southaven, or Tuscaloosa. In the case of this instrument, I am willing to drive farther, but I have limits. If you are interested, post here, and we can exchange contact info privately.
