1/4 note=80 should be in the ballpark.....Not sure what section they're asking, though. Listen to an orchestra recording, and be able to play it + or - 15 b.p.m. and you'll be prepared for sure......

Try 126 - 132+ bpm. That is typical for a service band audition (at least ones I have been involved with).

My youth orchestra played it over the summer; I think the tempo for most of the piece was in the 100-115 range.
