I heard that bottle organ at the NAMM show last year, and it is pretty funny hearing old guinness bottles playing music, but the sound could not compete with the digitally controlled player piano pounding away on "The Great Gate of Kiev" next door. The next booth over had a digital self playing violin and a bunch of other self playing string and accordion type instruments, but I didn't get a chance to hear them. Self playing instruments are great fun. Right now I'm working on building a sextet of midi controlled air raid sirens that will play music. They should be able to entertain an entire city at once (or annoy an entire city at once).

That has got to be the coolest site I have spent time at in a while. By all means, check out the Eb Sub-Contrabass Saxophone. I don't know what's more amazing that the guy can hold it with a neck strap(love to be his chiropractor!!!) or that it makes a sound with some semblance of pitch. Thanks, way cool site.

Did you follow the link to Jay Easton's site? He has a lot of sound clips of unusual saxophones. My favorite is the sound clip on the page linked below, all 10 members of the saxophone family playing together. It sounds like a pipe organ!
