Tuba solo with Middle School Band...
Does anyone know of any tuba solos with accomp. suitable for a middle school band? The director and I have all ready considered transposing existing pieces written on that level (several for trumpet, etc.) but are there any written for tuba?? Thanks!

Agreed; good piece for this purpose. Accessible for both the performer and easy on the ears for the audience -- it is actually likeable and somewhat cute.bloke wrote:If this is a stand-out player with 11th-12th skills...
A Touch of Tuba - Art Dedrick. Level: 4. Published by Kendor Music
Plus, it comes with a piano accompaniment that would be very useful for preparation prior to rehearsing with the band. (I don't know if it still does -- but it used to come with a little "cheapy" vinyl record [for the turntable] that gave a demo performance; maybe now a CD???? I don't know...)

I Agree with Bloke & JB.
I Agree with Bloke & JB. A Touch of Tuba is a great little piece.
