A few years ago, after working for a company for 5+ years, I decided to leave with no new job lined up. I left because it simply wasn't what I wanted to do anymore and I had enough $$ to get me through for a while. One of the best decisions I ever made.

Re: Update Update
Started a new job on Monday. This is my first "real" (read: living wage and decent benefits) job in about 1.5 years, just been scraping by on what I could get since a layoff from last real job back in Aug. '08. They say it's recession if it happens to your neighbor...

The government is only proposing to freeze discretionary spending, and from what I've heard, Rick is ANYTHING but discretionary...schlepporello wrote:He'll have to get his vaccinations.Mark wrote:Does this require Senate approval?Rick Denney wrote:Rick "after 16 years as a consultant following 13 years in state and local agencies, happily going back to the public sector" Denney
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Thanks for the well-wishes...almost 3 weeks now and still stink-free. I feel like I've won...I don't even have thoughts of smoking most days any more.tbn.al wrote:Hey Todd! Thinking about you. Hang in there!
UPDATE:
I am now also douche-free. Few of you will understand what I mean, but it feels great, anyway.

Fit the 21J/cases, Tuba Tamer, music stand, music bag and chair into my new-to-me Kia Rio hatchback - whew. Playing the concert tonight was easy after that - except for The Cowboys, that piece is a real workout, at least for this duffer.
You are welcome for your update. Stay high on life, Todd.

Re: Update Update
I finally got the meet Da Bloke in person. We met in Nashvul when he was driving back to Memfus from the Conference. He picked up the Schiller 4/4 case I had for sale (complete with customized rims) and I swapped out my recently acquired BlokePiece #1 underpart for a #2; I found in a large ensemble the sound on the Schiller was just a hair strident with the #1; the slightly mellower #2 should be just the ticket. If I had the dough, I would have been happy to keep the #1 as well, especially for soloing. Bravo to an excellent design.
Joe is actually much nicer in person than many on this board have been led to believe; and he really does not eat children, liberals, or the mentally infirm.

That's nothing... my tuba is dead, and often I wear my best clothes and prop it up on my lap as though I was actually playing it!
