Not to rain on your parade, Sean, but there really are times when I want to use the word "t-u-b-a" without getting it changed to a smilie! Could you perhaps mandate a colon bracket or some such thing?

Or, make it replace ONLY if it has colons around it, sorta like
 & shock...

I dunno, I kind of like it replacing the word each time. It's a good way to scan a thread and see how often (or rarely) the word tuba comes up. Since the site is about tubas.

Could lead to some competitions, like who can talk about tubas the longest without actually saying tuba.

Just so everyone is clear. I just cleaned up the GIF. Sean must be the one who gave it the tuba (t-u-b-a) name and caused the GIF to replace every occurance of the word tuba.

I'm still laughing...

I love the tuba guy, but frankly, it is a bit distracting...makes me feel like I'm playing one of those word-story games with my son's cub scout pack where everytime you say one of the magic words of the story, in order to get them to really listen, they either jump up and do something, or make the appropriate noise, hand gesture, etc. But even as much as I enjoy it in that context, uh, well, on editing, it looks like it's been taken care of...nevermind.
