I put a mike in the bell, and placed a snare drum pad down with it to completely mute the tuba. WOW!!!!! That is fabulous. AND now I have a name to put with the sound of one of the best cd's I have bought in a while. Get the Naxos cd "Wagner Opera Choruses" with Leif Segestom, the Stockholm Opera Orchestra and the Royal Opera Chorus. Not only are the recordings fantastic, but the tuba plying is on my All-Time Top 5 list of nicest recorded tuba sounds. CJ sounds beautiful in a way that I have never heard before, clean articulation with a wonderfully broad sound. The 3rd Act to Meistersinger is well worth the $7 the recording costs. NICE.Carl Jacobsson is tubist with the Stockholm Opera in Sweden.
