The more expensive one can sound a little better. The main problem to overcome is that they pick-up every creak-n-tap you make with your horn. really....anything mildly percusive against the metal is picked-up even if it's at the other end of the horn. If you have noisy valves...forget-it. Still, they can be a lot of fun. Check-out The uses Bian Wolff has found for contact mics and the ol' Barcus Berry mouthpiece pick-up.
