The company of a good woman.
Good times with lots of well - behaved kids around.
Producing a nice fat tuba bass sound in a fun group of musicians.
A fine guitar with new strings and an audience that loves my material enough to buy me beer.
A fast sailboat in a good breeze with a school of dolphins doing a circus act all around us.

Metal music in general
Fountains of Rome tuba excerpt simply for the fact people say, "It's not who plays this the best in an orchestral audition; it's who sucks the least."
Strudel...
Pretzels...
Tons of other things that I'm just too lazy to include...

I love to find a relatively intact recently killed armadillo alongside the road.
They always lie on their backs with all four feet in the air (unless they're squooshed too bad).
I drive a little further until I find a beer can on the roadside (a common occurance here in Alabama) - preferably a nice shiny silver Coors can.
I pick up and dump the beer can and drive back to the deceased armadillo. It is easy to prop the beer can on the armadillo's nose (suported by it's stiff front legs) so it looks to passing cars like it drank itself to death.
Chugalug ya'll,

I suppose you could say that misanthropy makes you happy, but that would kind of defeat the purpose...k001k47 wrote:What makes you H A P P Y ?

Re: What makes you H A P P Y ?
Cooking dinner with my girlfriend.
The look on a student's face when they accomplish something for the first time.
Seeing/hearing my 18 month old nephew say, "AH AH AH!" every time he sees the Count on Sesame Street.
In college, our school used to change the schedule during Thanksgiving week, and on Tuesday, we would all follow our Thursday schedule. My friends and I called it Thuesday, and we celebrated every year with a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner, with just our friends. The fact that we all still get together and do this, makes me happy.

Re: What makes you H A P P Y ?
Hearing my girlfriend get this phone call from her apartment's leasing office:
"Did you lose your wallet? One of the other residents called me and said he found it -- here's his name and phone number. He said everything is still there, and he can drop it off to you this evening."
Of course, it was after we spent the morning canceling credit cards, ATM cards, etc...but still...phew!
Oh, and ditto for Wade. Ice cream makes me grin like a 5-year-old child.

The (getting more frequent) times in T/E quartet when the octaves between my 2d euph and Bart's 2d tuba are absolutely in-tune. What a feelin'!

That's happening to me today, but I have mixed feelings knowing that somehow in some way he'll screw it up.schlepporello wrote:Not being at work and knowing that some poor sap who hates my route has to run it.MaryAnn wrote:Not being at work.
Fixing Thanksgiving dinner yesterday for my family made me very happy, indeed. Cooking always makes me happy.
