Is "all of the above" an acceptable answer?

During the school year: Cedar Falls, IA, which is in the northwestern quadrant of Iowa.

During every time else: Decatur, IL, which is in the center of Illinois.

It's been plenty hot here, as well. The high temps for the last 1.5/2 week have been around 95, with the heat index averaging around 105. And because this is a temperate zone which doesn't receive the brunt of the summer storms, humidity is right around 100% most days.

I live so far South that if I moved ten miles further South, I would be five miles out in the Gulf of Mexico.
We pronounce it Guf Coast

Rocky Mountain West (suburban Denver, Colorado). Don't care much to be included in the same region as the Left Coast.

95 degrees here today --- but it's a DRY heat!!

Of course if you go 40-50 miles west of here and another 4 or 5000 feet higher, it will be much cooler!

I dunno about others, but when I see the word "West" as it relates to the adjacent 48 states, I think of Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, (west) Texas. The "American West" is a state of being as much as it is geographical. The west coast (at least to me) just doesn't fit in with that concept/version of reality.

Politically, I view the general attitude of the citizens in all of those states as follows:

"Hello, I'm calling on behalf of the Democratic National Committee..." LEAVE ME ALONE !!! :x

"Hello, I'm calling on behalf of the Republican National Committee..." LEAVE ME ALONE !!! :x
West is anything beyond the Great Appalachian Forest.
