Re: emergency need: homemade pizza heaped high with sausage
Now, did I say anything positive at all about Glenn Campbell? At least they did the right thing and killed him off in the old version. And did I disparage the work of the Coen brothers in any way? I just said I preferred John Wayne to Jeff Bridges in this role. And I thought most of the actors had trouble delivering the 19th-century language with a natural sound and flow.cktuba wrote:I think you are reading way too much into Rick's comment. I'm pretty sure he was joking and just quoting a line from the movie "True Grit." Although I would (having recently watched both versions) disagree with him on which version I prefer. John Wayne was very good (though I preferred "The Dude")... but Glenn Campbell... ugh.

Smilies? Please, no. Your humor comes through well enough without them. But do not send faster than you can receive.Porkins wrote:CK,
I know he was joking. I was just bantering back, but I think my sense of humor doesn't come through very well. Gotta start adding smilies, I guess.![]()

As to self-esteem, my self-esteem is in no way undermined by the certainty that 1.) I will never meet any of these young ladies, and 2.) if by chance I did, they would ignore me utterly. It would therefore seem rather presumptuous of me to reject either of these young ladies on the presumption of their being high maintenance--the sort of presumptuousness that might be offered by a one-eyed fat man.

No, but I will. Glen Campbell's mugshot is better than Nick Nolte's.Rick Denney wrote:Now, did I say anything positive at all about Glenn Campbell?

Wow. Thanks Wade. In all the times I have looked at that picture, I had never noticed that the beer was Spaten. In fact I had never noticed that the beer maiden was wearing a necklace.the elephant wrote:GUYS! FOCUS! STAY ON (SUB-)TOPIC!
