With dynamic contrast like that on such a big horn it's almost enough to make one wonder whether his louds are louder or his softs are softer. Probably both.

I used a 185 CC for close to 20 years in a quintet. Works just fine. Can't say about the "new" 185s, they are different than the old ones.

When playing in a quintet with a 186, did you use the same mouthpiece you use for a larger group, for example a concert band?
