I'm going to speak with the DB tomorrow morning, but they have at least 2 grad students and university rules state that to teach grad students you have to have your master's degree at minimum. Since I opted to go back into the public schools last year I didn't finish my degree. I'm hoping though that I might be able to get on as adjunct and do the undergrad lessons. We'll see what happens.knuxie wrote:Not interested, Chad?Just saw this one posted. http://www.und.edu/dept/aao/newjobarts.htm#00015009" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank University of North Dakota seekeing a low brass lecturer. Good university with some wonderful faculty in the music department.

Found out that the UND position was advertised as per the hiring rules. Dr. Joel Pugh was part time last year and offered a full time position this year. Good luck to Dr. Pugh and the UND low brass studio.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe James Saliers teaches adjunct tuba down at Kingsville with Yutaka.tuneitup wrote:I heard it might be filled already. But here it is:

Are there really that many tuba students at Texas AM Kingsville that they have a full-time professor plus an adjunct? Can anybody confirm this?

Re: College Positions 2010
Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to the recently hired professors, and good luck with your semester.
The advertised position is filled by Mr. James Saliers. Thank you to all who were interested in the position.
I think I am qualified to confirm that we have a full-time prof and an adjunct prof for the tuba and euphonium studio at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. We have 25 tuba and/or euphonium majors at our school, and some of you may have seen us at the Regional Tuba Euphonium Conferences. Since we don't use teaching assistants, we do need two professors to teach all the students. I do conduct the orchestra as well, but that is a very small part of my work load. I hope this clarifies. If you think my studio is huge, take a look at the trumpets and the trombones...
