UpDate: I am not, as Wade so foolishly presumes, "squandering" my time and wasting my life on TubeNet. I am "investing" it in watching these posts and laughing my rear end off at the old farts ridiculous and often childish antics. Not only that, but this is also preparation and training for the far off day when I am an old fart too and can be mean like the Elephant.

I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.

Ray, can you really do this from San Antonio? I would set up shop in San Marcos to watch his house. Or at least Selma.

I have been at my post continually since I was first given General Order No. 1. I am a very faithful soldier. I will faithfully stay at my post and guard his place, as promised. Most of the time, I will be in San Antonio. I do not expect to leave the state of Texas, however.

***VACATION UPDATE***

Just arrived home safely. Muchas gracias to those who stood watch over my home. Don't worry about the cigarette butts, the empty beer bottles and the empty valve oil bottles- I'll take care of them. Small price to pay for a safe domicile. Well done, men.

You should never eat soap. Especially Irish Spring. It makes you make faces like this

You also shouldn't stick your head in the potty (especially in the middle of dinner.) It makes your face look like this:

It was a hacksaw blade, actually. I had to dismount it from the frame otherwise it wouldn't fit. This was about four years ago - he just walked into the room crying because it had "popped" over his head and he could not get it off - you can see the scratches on his face where he tried. We were trying not to laugh the whole time. Ruined a perfectly good potty seat, too.

4th of July update:
Once again the band played for the old-fashioned parade on Mt Lemmon. (the kind where people dress up their dogs and pull them in a wagon.) This year, however, someone decided to do a "battle of the bands" and engaged an electrified Southern Hillbilly Bad Rock Band across the street, to compete with the concert band. It was a pretty bad idea. They won, since all they had to do was turn it up. I think they had beer too.

Prairie Home Companion had a rendition of Stars and Stripes done by a harmonica player, including the piccolo solo. If you missed it you should find the web site and listen.
