I, on the other hand, am enjoying a cup o Joe for the first time in four days, thanks to a migraine attack. Peet's Christmas Blend, to be precise.

Taking a single shot of Maker's Mark tonight. My friend, Jerry Webber, was killed in an accidental shooting a year ago today. The shot is for him.

Fat Tire... Probably not exciting for a lot of folks, but they only recently started selling it out east. And not in NY yet, so I had to get my folks in MD to get some for me. Still a hassle, but easier than going to Ft Collins again.

Bitter melon "tea" (i.e., infusion) is what.

Earlier, a liqueur `Dumante Verdenoce', which is supposed to feature pistachios. I would have said almonds, but probably a little more subdued than in amaretto. I don't expect any ill results, but a cup of bitter melon tea doesn't hurt anyway (and doesn't taste as bad as it sounds - fresh bitter melon is bitter as all get out, but the tea is not a bit bitter.)

Right now, a nice Peet's Coffee blend while I sit in a coffee shop and suck up free internet. (Been staying with my sister as she recovers form surgery and she has no 'net). Tonight, nothing at a wedding rehearsal open bar as I run interference for a good friend in a tough family dynamic time. After the rehearsal dinner, perhaps a martini. We'll see.

Just finished a late lunch/early dinner at my favorite SOTB kitchen and asked the bartender to pull this for me. Really nice. Light, refreshing, bit of lime. Very nice.

Otherwise, I had some catfish fillets, mashed potatoes, some really amazing green beans, a very good salad, and a macadamia nut cookie (stuff brought up from the Paula Deen buffet). Last night, we ate Cajun cuisine (a buffet at a high-rollers' appreciation party).

That's a tall drink there Joe. Do you like it better than eating it?

As far as whiskey is concerned, I WISH I COULD find other whiskeys that I like as well as I like Dickel #12

I have always thought that American Whiskey was pure rot-gut. Dickels is not, I have a bottle that sits proudly next to my bottle of Jameson's and Tullamore Irish Dew. It serves me well straight up with no chaser when I am in the mood for a heavier, woody flavor.

just bought the new Sam Adams Brewmaster's collectin for Spring. Haven't had a chance to sample them yet. Includes Boston Lager, Black Lager, Alpine Spring, Mighty Oak Ale, Irish Red and Whitewater IPA, can't wait!
