No, but I did notice you've been buying lots of women's clothing on eBay lately...what's up with that? :D

I used to take lessons from a guy who was a former student of Baer. What he told me was that it was some "off-brand" horn, definitely not Miraphone. Does Gronitz fit that appellation?

Cheap version :D- a used 191 and a used 653 (they even look alike!).
Okay, I'm stumped - what's a 653?

i would have to say:

B&S PT20-PS
Gronitz PF125

a VERY large sounding 4/4 CC with a 4/4 F that comes with a good low range and a singing high range but with a sound that makes it sound a little like a medium sized CC.

I'm totally happy with my combo of Miraphone 184 5U CC and MW 182 F. I was thinking of selling the F because I never used it when suddenly a TE quartet materialized that wanted me on the bass part. So....I guess I'll keep it a while longer.

This was my "pair" for a while, a MW 2155R and a Cerveny "Harmonia" F. Despite their quirks, they were both very good horns and complemented each other well. One of the things that struck me, after the fact, was just how similar the profile of these two horns was. Except for minor difference in the wrap of some of the valve slides, the horns had virtually the same profile - it looks almost like someone photocopied the CC and did a 25% reduction on it.
