I voted (though I'm sure that I just cancelled someone else's vote, but I don't live in Florida... )
Quick aside:
Mrs. Bug and I attended a memorial service for a great friend and colleague that filled a theater last night. What an amazing, global, well lived life he had (and was the same age as I).
Moral: Cherish your friends, you may not know them as well as you think you do, and that relationship can be over in the blink of an eye!!

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

And all of this just because they stopped keeping score in T-Ball so the kiddies would all be winners and there wouldn't be losers. Life lessons should begin early, and losing gracefully is a learned skill. Without this skill, the 'anointed' who are blessed with all the 'correct answers' to our problems will childishly act out if they don't get their way, thus justifying the disdain they earned last Tuesday.bloke wrote:I hear there is a lot of rioting and burning of property going on in high-density population centers.

I received spousal dispensation to use this season's gig money to get back into homebrewing. I'm a wee bit excited about it.

A wee bit excited now, far more excited in about 4-6 months.Big Francis wrote:I received spousal dispensation to use this season's gig money to get back into homebrewing. I'm a wee bit excited about it.
I've been homebrewing on and off for about 5 years or so. Last time I brewed was around this time last year. It all went well until I ended up never having time to bottle it, it spoiled, and I had to get rid of it -- very sad. Can't wait to get back to it, though. Also looking forward to when my son is old enough to help out and do all the parts I hate doing.

Re: Update Update
I am finally getting over a cold that I've had for about a month. I have never coughed so much, or had a cough this bad. Doctor never thought it was any worse than a common cold, but it really knocked me down for a long time.
Was unable to play tuba for about 3 full weeks, because I couldn't go more than a minute or two without an extended coughing fit. How embarrassing.
Back to about 85% now, and ready to play again... whenever I get the time to do it!

Re: Update Update
Thanks Joe. Thankfully, I just had the cough, and my energy level was otherwise normal. But no cough medicines OTC or RX seemed to work very well. Only relief I could get was from an Albuterol inhaler. I have new found empathy for asthmatics!
Sorry you had it so much worse than me. I feel lucky by comparison.

Re: Update Update
I'm not sure what's going around. I've had a cough for several weeks that turned into a sinus infection. Anti-biotics are helping. I have been able to play and keep put with things, but a nap is a requirement each afternoon. I'm going into the holiday season with several concerts with an orchestra, band and 2 quintets. I hope this thing ends soon so I'm at my peak performance.

I recently walked the first of my four beautiful daughters "down the aisle".
