Yes, but they burn even less in-tune than the oboes!Anterux wrote:Saxophones burn slower.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

anyways, etudes are great i think, they all aren't slow either..one song for reigon #3 (#45 in the vlazdevitch) can be taken to 205..
certainly there are some easy etudes out there, but some of those things can be pretty tough.

It needs to be emphasized the you are the paying customer. Your teacher should be customer oriented enough to deliver the goods you want rather than indulging his/her own authoritarian desires and living in some outmoded past. What? Does your teacher come in carrying a riding crop and wearing a uniform complete with epaulets and medals? Go to your next lesson with your horn full of bubble bath and laugh out loud.

I'd like to meet your teacher. He sounds like a real winner.tubaboy2005 wrote:I dont know what my teacher wants. He says that I have a world-class sound, and that I am garanteed a symphony job. Thats only because I own a Yorkbrunner and am really good. What do you play? Do you like marching Band?

Damn, I wish I was that good, but I'm not so I play etudes, scales, and all that boring crap just to be a half-way decent tuba player. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I do it for the enjoyment of playing -- but I can sure smell your sulphurtubaboy2005 wrote:I don't understand why my private teacher makes me play etudes. they are totally worthless from what I can see. why play them when I can play the John Williams real fast.
