That's my feeling every time I read an addition to this thread...
Good point! This was part of the reason for starting this thread.

It is raining. It has been raining for over 12 straight hours now. It has been raining hard. We have a two hour drive to a outdoor runout in Greenville this afternoon. Cancelled? Heck no. I just got the directions to the rain location phoned to me by our Personnel Manager.

Dang it! :tuba:

Speaking of rain, its been raining for like 2 weeks straight here. I feel like I have moved to Seattle. (Nothing wrong with Seattle, don't get me wrong...)
Then when it was clear for two days it was 90 degrees!

I am going to soon start building an ark.

Do i need to take two of each kind of tuba on my ark?

I haven't ridden my bike for a long time. This spring has been rather damp and wet. bummer. Next it will probably get sunny and then be in the 90's again, so much for spring....

Tuba Ray,
I had in advertently registered twice under two names and e-mails a couple years back, one, "djohnson", with my office mailbox, and the other "tundratubist" was my personal mailbox. The purpose of the UPDATE was to reintroduce myself, "djohnson", with the signature; "Tundra Tubist", Using my previous signature, as my new replacement Login; "tundratubist". The easy solutions wern't as easy as hoped with two registrations. Maybe Sean will see this update and completly remove the "djohnson" from existance".
I now see where an avatar of a frozen tuba player would be appropriate. Maybe next year a photo op of "Merry Tuba Christmas" on the Red River if the North. I hope this completes or compounds the confusions of the earlier updates.

I bought my wife a 19" LCD HDTV with builtin DVD player and a compact HD antenna for Mothers Day to put in the bedroom (aka her room). I accidentally paid with the debit card instead of the credit card cause the kids kept bugging me at checkout. Unfortunately, we were about broke and that caused quite a calamity at home, defeating the intended purpose. Within less than 24 hours I sold my cheapo brand 88 key keyboard on craigslist to a beginning piano student and had enough cash in the bank to cover the cost, a trip with the kids and grandpa to Chuck E Cheese, and a rechargeable battery / charging cable for the XBox controller so we could stop feeding it AA batteries. Day saved. But, she still said she wanted a new coffee maker instead.

Hmmm ... you do have a point there (pedal point, I'd guess)! It would be a bass (though not terribly viol) thing to do ...

I keep hearing glorious praise for the new Star Trek flick from my non-Trekkie friends. I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing. I'll find out tonight, when I see it, I guess...

Oh. Sorry. I forgot.

I saw it last week, and really enjoyed it. The characterization was quite good.

Today we had our regional track meet. I am a thrower (I'm a tuba player, I don't run). I placed 3rd in shotput and 1st in discus. I will be competing in the state meet this upcoming weekend. I am stoked! you have been updated.

UPDATE!

I have five kittens I've been taking care of since I've been home from college. They are beginning to realize that there is a lot more to their world than the inside of a blue tote.

A picture for all the cat lovers!

Dear friends and fellow low brass players. It has finally happned. After many years of school and 6 years out of school of playing only the euphonium I have subcumed. I have have left the comfortable positon of playing the most wonderful and beautiful sounding instrument GOD ever bestowed on this great world of ours and have slipped down into the deepest, darkest nether regions of the belly of the beast. I have looked into the world of BLASTISSIMO and have been swayed by the all powerful dark side of the force and I liked it ! That's right folks .....
I've bought a tuba. May God have mercy on my soul and my family's ears.

Here's what I've bought ( for all you equipment weenies) : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0313293049" target="_blank"
