Hurricane relief pieces (Tuba Quartet and Brass Quintet)

Post by BVD Press »

Dear All,

After hurricane Katrina hit the gulf region of the United States, I thought I would try to find a way to raise some money to donate to the victims and survivors of this storm. Figuring music was a good way to accomplish this, I asked Nigel Simmons to arrange 2 versions of When the Saint's Go Marchin' In. He agreed with the stipulation the 100% of the sale price from these pieces would be donated to the Red Cross.

Nigel arranged versions for Brass Quintet ($15.00) and Tuba Quartet ($14.00).

Both versions begin with a slow dirge and then go into a longer dixieland section.

Both pieces are available on the bottom of my homepage:

There is a .pdf sample score and an .mp3 for each will appear shortly. I am
having a bit of difficulty getting the .mp3's to load and my webguy is looking into it as I write. Email
me privately and I can send along an .mp3 to you directly.

In addition to the 2 pieces above, BrassWorks4 www.brassworks4.com has agreed to donate 100% of the sale price for their mixed quartet version of When the Saints Go Marchin' In as well.

I hope everyone enjoys the charts and we are able to raise a nice amount of money within the brass community to give to our fellow citizens of the world.

Bryan, as a Gulf Coast resident, I would like to thank you for the gift of your talent. As good as the music sounds I wonder how much greater the
experience could be if folks could see you live. I pray your efforts are such a hit that you might consider a live tour of the Redneck Riveria.
Thank you, sir.

You probably would not want to hear me (at least not at this point in my career), but I am curious if there some groups who are doing concerts in the Gulf or other places to raise funds for the "Redneck Riveria"?

Thank you for the kind words,
