Hello all,
I am floating the idea of selling my Miraphone Premium F tuba. It is gold brass with 6 rotary valves (5+1). As a band director, I do not play F tuba frequently enough to justify keeping it. I really enjoy playing this tuba, though feel it is time to send it to a better home. I am asking $6,000, but am open to offers.
My understanding is the "Premium" model is a precursor to the Bel Canto model. It plays well, with a warm sound across registers. The low range is typical of an F tuba. My experience was that it was very open outside of the low C/B, and even those are stable with practice. I have had to use only minimal alternate fingerings (1&3 for high G) and found it easy to lip up or down as needed.
The instrument is in good condition. There are some minor dings, certainly nothing that hinders playability. I can send more pictures on request.
I am located in Augusta, GA and would prefer not to ship if possible. I am happy to drive several hours for a meet-up.
