I agree. That is a long wait for a mouthpiece, but Helleburg mouthpieces are quite nice. They take second only to my Perantucci.

If think a Helleburg is nice, then you should try the Helleberg.

Isn't it a little late in the year for that type?

Nope Glen, not the same Kevin. I couldn't even begin to guess where the heck Van, Texas is. No offense intended.

I have yet to get an answer on the original poster's brand of Helleberg. I am also curious as to the long wait for delivery. I suspect he bought from a retailer who most likely overcharged and gave him the runaround regarding availability and delivery.

It might've been out of stock because all the others got bought up in the weeks leading to the beginning of the school year, though.

Still, this is a pretty common mouthpiece. It's rare to find a tuba section beyond high school that doesn't have at least one Conn Helleberg or a similar variant.

I remember when I got mine -- I didn't think a tuba could be played that clearly.

Does that make tuba vendors pedal pushers?

All those people losing their beloved mouthpieces all over the place...
Made me think: why not solder a link to put a keychain on it to tie it to the horn, or, for that matter, how about screwed-on mouthpieces ?
