Came home last night flipped on the radio to one of the local jazz stations and start hearing what I thought was a jazz tuba from one of the old Matteson-Phillips Tuba-Jazz Consort records but I don't recognize it. After a long tuba solo the rest of the group comes in and it clearly is something different. The announcer didn't say what the piece was except it was from the Trumpet Summit CD.
Anybody familiar with this CD and know what piece this may have been? Really excellent playing.
