I have a few horns that I will be selling. Before they go to ebay, I thought I'd give you guys and gals an opportunity. I don't have a personal web page, so pictures are only available via email.
1. King "American" style euphonium. 4 front action valves, upright bell, siver plated, GREAT condition. Includes Wooden hard case and mouthpiece. This is a great player with spot on intonation. seriously, the best intonation of any euphonium I have played. I am not sure of the model number, but very similar to the King 2268. I am selling because I only use euphonium to teach tonal concepts in lessons. It is very rare that I do a gig or perform in recital on euphonium (I am primarily a tubist). Although a great sounding horn, it has a much lighter timbre than is currently en vogue. Price= $900.
2. Jupiter upright 4 valve lacquer euphonium. Has scratches and a few dents but looks pretty good. Plays well, too. Nice plastic case. Good pitch and good sound. Perfect for high school student, non-music major in college, euphonium doubling, or civic band type player. Great horn for this price $550.
3. Varsity (Holton stencil) 3 upright valve EEb tuba. Smaller instrument - bell is about 16 inches. Lots of history. made around 1900. Silver plated. Has many dents and a small hole in the second branch that was filled with solder. Also, there are some very amateur solder spots on a few braces. It was Black when I got it, but I cleaned it up. Now it shows that it has most of the silver intact. PLAYS PRETTY WELL. Perfect for TubaChristmas and for showing off. For serious study or performance this 3 valve Eb is of limited use. It does play with decent pitch, a pleasant sound. The valves do go up and down, and the slides do work. What can I say, I just don't have a need for a cool old tuba. Price = $400.
4. Old YORK euphonium. 3 upright valves. It is not laquered, but has no dents. Honestly, it plays terribly. Very stuffy. Did I mention no dents? This is definitely best used for decoration. Maybe in the hands of a good repairman it could be revived as a player. Price= $200.
email (or pm) me for pics and questions.
