Did anyone catch the news about the stolen LA Phil Stradivarius Cello that was found near a dumpster!
I wonder if anyone's likely to find a grand York tuba (a la CSO) or a Hirsbrunner near a dumpster? I doubt it, but this good news story might give us all some hope, however miniscule!!

The cello was apparently left on the front porch overnight by the principal cellist of the LA Phil. Some kid on a bicycle rode off with it (vaguely seen on a serendipitous video surveillance tape) and it was found some days later near a dumpster with some repairable damage. The woman who found it didn't recognize its worth and intended to have her boyfriend make it into a unique piece of furniture to hold CDs. She finally heard about the missing cello on a news report and turned it in. Some of the more cynical people around here think the story sounds too much like a poorly conceived Hollywood script to be totally accurate. But this is LA!
