need sheet music - TROMBONE - Ropartz "Piece in E-Flat&

Post by sloan »

Yet another last-minute search for music. My son is looking for:

"Piece in E-flat" by Ropartz for trombone (&piano?)

A preliminary look indicates that there are two...major and minor.

Alas, he says that he's only heard a recording, and is sure that it's major...and only the minor shows up in searches of Robert King and SheetMusicPlus.

So....anyone got one? Anyone know where to get one?

Must be a legit copy (it's for a solo&ensemble competition)

And, of course, we need it yesterday.

Will purchase or rent, and pay for FedEx delivery.

Does the competition give a publisher? If King, that must be the version you are looking for.

I don't have the list at hand. Here's what I know:

a) a teacher recommended the piece to him and said he had a copy

b) he also had a recording, which they listened to

c) turns out the sheet music is missing from the teacher's library (the folder is there, but the music is missing)

d) they have already filed the form saying "here's what will be played"

e) the deadline approaches

My son's ears are trustworthy enough to distinguish major from minor, and the written name of the piece (from the teacher) says just "Piece in E-Flat" - so again I tend to believe we need the MAJOR version.

There are lots of references to both a MAJOR and a MINOR version in the hits I get from Google, but only the Minor version appears in the Robert King catalog.

Oh well....asking here was a last resort - thanks for the reply
