Home-made leather guard help!!!!!

I've been putting this off for too long, making these guards, but I have no idea how to pursue these guards that I want to make. I already made one for my fifth valve slide for a pencil holder/good grip on the Tuba while not playing, and I put one on the right side of my first valve slide casing, so it won't wear out the laquer anymore. They both look pretty good, and work well, but now I want to make one for my first valve slide p antod one for my top bough, but I do not know how to make the curves right to make it look good.

Any tips on how to get this project done? I have an idea of how to get it done, by making 2 pieces and connecting them together, but I will do this if I cannot find another way.

I´ve seen handmade leather masks in all kinds of shapes including greatly protruding noses etc., and the guy who made them mentioned heat and moisture to be applied to shape the flat surface into something bulging. That material was up to 4 mm thick. So there are ways to sort of make a bent pipe out of leather and tie it to your horn with shoelaces.
