*&@%# sousa o-ring...
OK, I give up... what is the &$*#@ combination to getting that doggone o-ring into place between the glas and the brass on a Conn fiberglas sousaphone?
I've already ruined one o-ring trying to press it in with a screwdriver and I only have one left. Is there some kind of twisting trick, or do you just have to shove on it until it goes in?

Eli... make sure everything is clean and inspect the brass ferrule on the body for sharp edges and roundness. You might even want to put a slight lead-in on the ferrule. Grease it up with silicone grease or other grease formulated for use on rubber and slide things together. You have the correct o'ring. I'll send you a couple more if you destroy the extra one I sent.eli wrote:OK, I give up... what is the &$*#@ combination to getting that doggone o-ring into place between the glas and the brass on a Conn fiberglas sousaphone?I've already ruined one o-ring trying to press it in with a screwdriver and I only have one left.
