New Cerveny 601 's and Piggies

Post by TubaTodd »

[Yes, I did some searching in the archivess]

I was wondering if anyone here has played on a recent (< 2 years old) CCB Cerveny 601 with the long whole-step 5th valve. My first tuba was a Cerveny 681. It had a nice sound and smooth fast valves. I would like to try a new 601, but to my knowledge I don't live very close to anyone or any place that has one (or a dozen) to try out.

Along the same lines, I recall playing a Cerveny piggy several years ago and like everyone has said....it was a fun horn. Has anyone here tried a newer one with the right hand 5th valve?

Thanks for your responses! :)
