Hymns and Marches for Kids

Post by Peach »

What Hymns do you or your kids like to play in Band?
For British guys familiar with the Salvation Army 'red book' Brass Bands use, what are your favourite Hymns from there??

Likewise, I'm looking for good Marches for Kids. Nothing too fancy - just with good melodies and a deal of rhythmic work.

High School Wind Band btw. Standard from ABRSM Grade 3 to 8 (majority c.4-5)...

Any ideas welcomed!

Cheers.

The best source in the UK for "Junior" Brass Band music is Tony Cresswell who runs Mostyn Music - his web page is :-

www.mostynmusic.com

His online catalogue is graded and goes from 4 part (for full band) upwards. His Junior and Intermediate sets usually contain C and F parts, treble and bass clef.

Hope this helps
