DEG marching contra for sale w/case.
Calling all weekend warrior repair techs!!! I have a Silver DEG Marching contra with 1 rotor and 1 piston for sale. It is in great shape but the valve set is unsoldered from the body. Put the valve set back on and kick some G major scale *** OR, use the rotor valve for a dependent 5th valve in the fourth valve of a small bore Euphonium a la Yamaha YEP321. Look at the pictures and you will see what I mean. The thumb linkage is already included. Also, the hard case is in great shape and is the perfect size for a euphonium travel/flight case with plenty of room for padding and storage compartments. The dimensions of the case are 32.5" long, 17.5" wide at bell, and 12.5" wide at the bottom bow. I am asking $350 obo+ shipping for the tuba and case. I will consider selling the case seperate for $50+shipping. This is begging to be turned into some kind of F tuba/ f cimbasso/ f blast-o-phone because it is in G, a whole-step sharp and it would be easy to add the length in cylindrical tubing. Any interested parties please email. Picture links below.

...ahhhh yes, but what skill it took for the arrangers to write for horns with all of the missing notes, and the key of G; so dark and imposing. I don't want to sound like a curmudgeon, but the whole corps movement took a step back when they switched to Bb and more valves...too easy!SpartanContra wrote:ah, G horns, how i love to hate them....

...good old days, and they weren't that long ago...

Thanks for all of the smart-*** replies....I'm serious...it keeps the posts bumped up on the index. I need some more smart-*** replies to keep this truly incredible, one-of-a-kind DEG G tuba, heirloom, perfect for quintet, gem up on the list until it sells. Really, G scale kicks *** on it. Perfect tuba for Dvorak 8, Stokowski's Little fugue in G transcription for orchestra, Tchaik 5, hey, maybe even Bydlo.....yes definately a great Bydlo tuba. So keep those emails coming........

Ok guys and gals, the hardcase is gone. So, now just the Contra is for sale and the price is now an incredibly LOW price of just $200+shipping. Don't miss this UNIQUE opportunity to own a piece of Americana. All you gearheads out there, this is prime kit material.
Email if interested to the address below and remember, you'll never have to practice G major scale again....
