Small rotor set for sale.

Post by Chris Olka »

Still cleaning out the workshop of projects I don't have time for.....
I have for sale 1 small bore (.550") 4 rotor valve set from an old Finke BBb cimbasso, that's right, BBb. Also, I have a single rotor F attachment (.547") from a Bach 42 trombone. Both the valve set and the F attachment have the tubing, the valve set tubing of course is very long. Both the valve set and the F attachment are very close in bore size and could be used together or seperately. My original plan for this gear was to cut the tubing of the valve set down from BBb to Bb and add the 5th rotor as a flat whole-step or 2 whole-step set-up (there is plenty of tubing for either) and make a 5 valve trombone bore valve set that could turn any trombone into a tenor cimbasso(trombasso, cimbone???) with a goose neck and slide receiver. One would only need enough .547" tubing to make up the length of a Bb trombone slide. I am including a Bach slide receiver. Theoretically one could use their trombone bell section or a dedicated trombone bell. The picture links below show a number of views and also a shot of both pieces pressed together to tantalize the gear-heads out there. The valve levers and bridge are part of the deal but they are unsoldered from the valve set. All of the tuning slides move freely. I am asking $600+shipping for the whole set of valves, slides and misc. parts including the bell reciever. Picture links are below. Interested parties please email me.
