Sidey HH mpc

Post by passion4tuba »

I just got the SSH mouthpeice..
Prior to this i was playing mainly on the conn-hellenberg.
The conn seems to have a thinner rim, but the cup seems slightly more shallow than the sidey.

it's very responsive and helps provide an open sound throughout the registers.

can anyone give me thier opinion on this mouthpeice and how it stacks up in the professional realm?
Often times I am told that it is the player, not the mpc, however there are certainly higher end mpcs right?

If not more importantly, what's YOUR opinion, now that you've had it for six months?
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

it's great, more than i imagined, which isn't saying alot since i haven't really played with alot of mpc's...very responsive in the higher register and it's easier to hit the close intervals
(D flat/ E), warms up fast too. overall, great investment, especially since i'm not the one who paid for it :D

I've never played one but Paul is a good, honest guy.
A stack of Pros play on Helleberg-style mouthpieces so if it works for you, I very much doubt it'll hold you back.

Just for info: It's SIDEY. Model is SSH. Also, it's Helleberg. The other mistakes are less important (probably...).

If you have Dyslexia that's fine; I know plenty of guys who suffer with it.
Not wishing to sound like a smug git, but when writing about a person or product though it's usually best to take an extra second to check the details IMO.

Thanks, im a horrible speller and just didn't pay attention to the spelling already provided on the box  , just me rushing honestly. Thanks for letting me know in a polite way though, there's already a huge rant post about the spelling in the post and how wrong it all is and how much of an idiot i am for making such a mistake.

I was a tuba player who went through MANY mouthpieces and I can happily say that I will look no more. It is a WONDERFUL mouthpiece, if you like the Helleberg design. It really makes my Miraphone 186 sound larger than what it is!
