Not a tuba player (I don't think, anyway) .. but certainly one of my favorites. (and I don't even care for country music!) Anyway, another great one has passed.

Freddie Fender did not have a huge fan base, but his fans were very passionate.
In the 70's, in a country rock band, I sang his "Til the Last Teardrop Falls" ( a real tear jerker) with the last verse in Spanish. I stuck my ear into the stereo and got it phoenetically. The Spanish speakers in our crowd appreciated it and told me I got the Spanish verse pretty close.
I still remember every word of his lyric.
