Conn 54l Euphonium

Post by trseaman »

Hey all,

I recently acquired a silver, 4-valve 1928 Conn Euphonium. The body was very tarnished but in great shape and It will also need a minor overhaul before it's ready for public play... I also need to replace the stems, caps and 4th valve spit valve. I'm not a euph guy and don't know much about them... Does anyone have one of these, care to comment or have an opinion??? Before & after shots below!

Nice job! Looks unmolested enough, too!

(looks like you have too much time on your hands!)

I would venture that stems and finger buttons shouldn't be too hard to find if you can hook up with a good repair person (Conn made a buch of parts that'll fit while they still were working in the US). You may even be able to buy some silver ones new, if you so desire. Same with the waterkey.

Should be able to get it all back together and have a nice horn!

(Here's my Conn... )

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I'm searching for one silver stem, three silver caps and one silver water key. I need the whole water key assembly. I would prefer used items to go with this old horn...

Thanks, Tim :D
