Guidebook to the Solo Literature for Tuba: Volume 1
I am currently taking pre-publication orders for my new booklet- Guidebook to the Solo Literature for Tuba, Volume 1- Turn of the 20th Century "Warhorses." These pieces are from the 1880 to about 1920 era. (This is the first in a series of ten booklets profiling the solo literature for tuba). The coil bound monograph will profile ten early tuba solos and be right at forty pages in length. Solos profiled include Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep, Happy Thoughts, Solo Pomposo, Down in the Deep Cellar, The Storm King, Barbarossa, Tempesta, The Mighty Deep, Beelzebub, and the collection entitled 6 Solos for Eb Bass. (I am also re-publishing some of these solos that have been in the public domain for years). I expect the book to be ready for shipment by February 10. Orders will be sent first class or priority mail. Send $10 in U.S. funds (check or money order) to Stephen Shoop, 507 S.W. Main St., Ennis, Texas, 75119. (The price includes shipping and postage). Feel free to email me regarding questions at stephen_shoop@yahoo.com

Next time you're in town-- give me a call. My band marches in the parade at that festival! I often wonder if any other high school band has a parade performance on Memorial Day weekend. I doubt it.
