boston for the 4th

Post by ken k »

just got back from Boston where I spent the weekend and a few days seeing the sights. We went to the Boston Pops rehearsal concert Saturday night and sat in the "Oval" to see and hear the "Pops." Gary Ofenlach was listed as the tuba player and sounded great. They had some nice mic mixing on him and he came through beautifully. Sunday night we sat along the river to see the fireworks. We could still hear the Pops through the impressive sound system, but we couldn't see them that night. The fireworks display on the Chalres River is simply incredible. I was fighting back tears. It was beautiflully choreographed to about 30 minutes of music and it was like watching dancers. It was truly incredible. If you ever have a chance to get to Boston for the 4th I would recommend it heartily.

Are you referring to these pink elephants?
