If you're in the are - GO to this concert!!! I heard them Tuesday when they played in Kennesaw, and as expected, DZ was fantastic, but more importantly, the GROUP is fantastic!

There is nothing better than hearing great music played live. We live to much in the era of recordings, and it always amazes me how much more engaging and enjoyable music is live - so GO!

(I must confess, DZ is my teacher, so of course I'm biased, but the group was fantastic when they came to Athens last year, which is why I made the trek to Kennesaw to hear them again, with the added bonus of hearing my teacher, mentor, role model holding down the tuba chair - and doing a fabulous job!)

Burning River threw down last night. Spectacular concert. Herr Zerkel played brilliantly (as usual). Of particular musical genius was his debut on castanets during de Falla's "Three Cornered Hat." Never wished I had a camera so much in my life.....
