Have you ever played Luigini's "Ballet Egyptien," I would appreciate knowing how you handled the Tuba Solo in the 7th phrase (letter "G"). It is marked Solo, FF and Marcato in the tuba. The Bassoons also have the notes (not cues) but it is not marked "solo" or FF or Marcato for them. I think it is a burlesque - something funny would happen on stage. My conductor has told me to play more softly and let the Bassoons carry it. The one recording I have heard is of Bonynge conducting and it sounds all tuba, can't hear Bassoons.
Ever had any experience with it? Luigini was apparently a one hit wonder and this is it. I would appreciate any knowledge you could pass on about this piece.
