Ok this might sound lame to some. However has anyone ever seen a fingering chart for a BBb 5 valve with the alternate fingerings? If so please post where it might be found.
Thanx for your kind help

Re: BBb 5 valve fingerings
Actually, the Conn/Cavalier souzy I sometimes play sounds absolutely great and in tune on the false pedals with these fingerings. They are only slightly grainer than "real" notes, and imminently useable. If I had any lips, I could get the C consistenly, but I can only get the Db with any regularity, the C occasionally, but can't get there for the B nat or true pedal Bb. But that's me, not the horn.Bob1062 wrote:Sure thing!TubaingAgain wrote: a fingering chart for a BBb 5 valve with the alternate fingerings?
Eb- 0
D- 2
Db- 1
C- 12
B- 23
With the upper loop of the 1st valve tubing having been made into a slide, and pulling 3 for 23 to be in tune, you really don't need a 4th valve, to say nothing of a 5th!

TubingAgain, you should be aware that official and official alternate fingerings are just a starting point for you to discover the fingerings that work for your particular tuba, mouthpiece and embouchure. In addition, when you play with an ensemble, you sometimes may want to use different fingerings that facilitate playing somewhat sharper or flatter.
You didn't bring up the topic of slide pulling while playing, so I won't comment on that except to note that some tubists do it.
Cheers,
Allen
