Looks pretty nice, though. Is this one of those "missing links" that they never quite got right, or is it worth owning?

Looks an awful lot line an MW37 to me (Bill Bell model).

BBC has one in stock, but with a detachable bell:

Not exactly the same, but similar "slant" to the valve block and similar 4th valve wrap. Maybe it's something different though.

You may be right, except for the convertible 5th valve...
