WTB - ALL Brass/woodwind instruments for display-Junkers OK

Hello All,

I am looking to purchase (in most any complete condition) instruments to display and pass around to school kids while giving presentations and clinics.

Specifically - Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone, Flute, Saxophone, Violin/Viola/Cello and ANY PERCUSSION you have.

These need not be in playing condition but would like them as complete as possible to demonstrate valves/slides/keys etc.

These will be passed through the classes for a "hands on" presentation of instruments.

If you have any, please post or PM me terms. As always, price is a factor, but if you have some old junk to clean out, I'm interested.

I note you left out tuba and double bass. Any particular reason?

Come to the pawn shops and flea markets in southwest Missouri. In one fell swoop through the area, you can probably get enough instruments to last a lifetime, including one flea market that has a Pan Am cornet I almost bought for myself for $60 and an Olds recording bell tuba 3-valve for $300 that if I had room in my stable it would be fun to play around with.

Chuck, I own enough tuba's and baritone's to start my own band. Don't need a bass as I can make the point to the kids with a smaller (easier to transport) type of string instrument.

I'm just trying to turn on the minds of some young people who only think music comes on an Ipod and that the only instruments that exist are electronic.

i have a very old junker trombone that was a decoration at my old house before we moved. Silver plated, now tarnished but pretty much complete and would look good polished up.

The bell is engraved "Adams Special" Wm. F. Adams and Sons, Philadelphia, PA, USA

It is one of the old peashooters without a bell lock and a brass slide that doesn't move very well.

If you want it, I'll pack it up and send it to you for $25. It has not case.

If anyone has anything else, please let me know.

I have told many of you that my new job, (post-Navy Band) is with the Troops to Teachers program working with high poverty elementary students to experience the world of music.

As with anything in the schools, funding doesn't exist for what I am doing.

These instruments will be used to let a child touch, feel, and experience an instrument - not just look at a picture!!

Please keep the PM's and posts coming. I can't offer much money but can assure you your instrument will not collect dust, but instead will be making a difference.

Still looking for a Trumpet, Clarinet, Flute, and Saxophone...

Just for grins, the "Adams Special" trombone, from Philadelphia is c.1902-c.1910. They only produced for a short time.

I've got a small pile of junker flutes (mostly Kings, maybe 3 or 4). Almost all are complete, but have various dings, etc. You're welcome to them for shipping.
