In my experience those aren't very well liked horns. The newly manufactured Besson Sovereigns often aren't up to the quality level of their older cousins. I think they're overpriced for what you're getting and you're often better off purchasing an older model and possibly even spending a little extra for restoration if you have to. The old Bessons (I forget which era is the best) as a whole, are much better horns than what they're churning out now.

But hey, if you like it, then looks like you got a great deal! One man's junk is another man's treasure I say.

Every now and then a batch of good ones from this era slipped through the net (lol) and I've seen a few over the years.

Enjoy and be envied.

check the valve caps, the screws are stripped a lot on even new horns, also check the valves themselves and check for things that shouldn't be there like oddly placed dents (not the ones that are supposed to be there!) if nothing is wrong with the valves your lucky, my first euph, yamaha 321, had bad valve caps, dont play on it now but that was indeed a problem. good luck with your new horn!
