Sorry to be non-specific, but I do have the following from Steven Mead. I spoke with him this evening, he offered the following (not exact, but trying to be precise) "One of finest pieces I have ever had the pleasure to perform. The orchestral accompaniment is perfectly scored - and is beautiful. The premiere last evening was probably one of the most enjoyable musical experiences I have had."
Definitely sounds like a winner. The concert was recorded, and Steve will definitely have some sound clips up on euphonium.net soon. I don't know if there is plans for a piano reduction, but if Rudin wants any shot at making any $$$, he'll give people an outlet to perform it (unless you have an orchestra lying around for good measure to play it with). Check out Steve's site in the coming weeks - he'll have info, I'm sure.
For those that care - I took a look at the score a few weeks ago, and when it becomes available it will be the hardest piece for the euphonium in print - notches above the Linkola and Ellerby.
Hope this helps,
Pat Stuckemeyer

Seems like this one is going to become another "Cosma". Interesting, can't wait to hear it...
