Are there any suggestions with working on the upper register????
Yes, ASK YOUR PRIVATE TEACHER. You may have a problem no one here can diagnose because they can't see you and any advice my actually hurt you more than help.

This is very good. Playing up there on a contra is not going to be fun you don't know what to hear for.

Definitely talk to your teacher, though.

Even though I agree with Chuck, I think I can safely say "don't push the mouthpiece into your face harder!". You'll be sorry.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
