The brass replacement part is available from Allied parts, which is accessible by most Repair Techs.

They're a bit pricey, though...

Be careful about ordering a leadpipe... they've changed over the years.

My tech studied with Ed Streghe, who presumably had every version of leadpipe made for the 186. When my CC needed one Ed sent one of every size to him, and none of them fit. Turns out that my particular horn was only made for a few months way back in the 70s.

Fortunately, the Mirafone folks still had someone around who knew the design and he custom-made one for me (now, THAT'S loyalty!). I had no choice but to get nickel silver - they wouldn't make one out of brass. I forget exactly how much it cost, but I think the whole bill was around $500. Worth every nickel (pun intended).
