From another blog:

Hi there...

That tuba player was me... I can tell you that much... a friend in nyc (the reed player) has been working on commercial music and asked me to lay down that track here in new orleans about 3 days before it started airing...

Thanks for saying the tuba line was "cool!"

Cheers...

Hi TubeNetters

Post by orleansjon »

I just wanted to formally introduce myself and say "Hello" to all of you...

My name is Jon Gross, and I'm a freelance sousaphonist/tubist in New Orleans. I'm the guy that recorded the sousaphone part for those Verizon commercials that have been playing.

I was just added to to TubeNet, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Good to be a part of a large virtual brass community!

I look forward to corresponding/meeting you beautiful people!

Obviously, Jon has not met all of the members of the TNFJ.

Welcome to TubeNet, Jon. I enjoyed the commercial, as well.
