Yamaha parts are not a problem for me.... or any other registered Yamaha parts dealer. One thing you need to find out is the serial number. Under 100,000 is old style pistons and metal valve guides. Higher serial numbers are the new style plastic valve guides. The older style is not available but the new style pistons and hardware will interchange if you buy the piston, valve guide, washer, and stem. One thing nice about Yamaha pistons is that they will probably just drop in as long as the casing is undamaged. I always sort of 'shivver' when I see a horn on auction that is missing a piston and wonder why it's not there. Perhaps the piston AND the casing were bad. You might aske the seller for a serial number and also ask he/she if one of the other pistons will fit into the blank casing. You might be looking at buying just a couple of hundred bucks worth of parts.
